Winter Unit Study, Day 2

Brrrrr! Woke up this morning to -9 degree temps! The high for today is only 10 degrees! There's snow on the ground. Definitely COLD!!! What's a unit study without COLD though, right? So we studied about Antarctica!



Here are some facts that we learned:
Fifth largest continent
Coldest place on Earth
17 different penguins live in Antarctica
6 months of suns followed by 6 months of darkness
Opposite seasons than the United States

but the coolest (pun intended!) was this:

Antarctica is actually the world's LARGEST DESERT!!!

In this lesson we discussed hemispheres, the degree symbol, F vs. C, commas, and abbreviations!
