Glass Dharma Review & Giveaway

I am super excited to be reviewing Glass Dharma straws. They've been on my list to get for a while. Why? Well, in my house we go through a LOT of straws. Only they were plastic disposable straws. The kids LOVE 'em and in the grand scheme of things, plastic straws weren't that expensive. The problem lays in the fact that they were PLASTIC! I've been making an effort to get rid of plastic and the straws that the kids used were one of the few things left.

Now, you might be wondering why glass straws would be a good replacement for my plastic straws, ESPECIALLY if the kids were going to use them.

For starters, these glass straws are durable and well made. The glass isn't your typical glass and I'm not worrying over them breaking- they aren't frail. While I do recommend using them responsibily- they ARE glass- they most certainly not something easily broken. My youngest (almost 5) used them all during the review period and they never once cracked or split. While he was careful with them, he was only as gentle as most young kids are! There was also the time I dropped one in my sink! It was completely unintentional and I really thought I had broken it, but nope! Good as new!

Glass Dharma doesn't just make straws from any glass, they make straws from durable glass. That pie plate or coffee pot? Same glass is used there as with these straws! They have a LIFETIME GUARANTEE against ANY breakage ~Glass Dharma Difference

Glass straws from Glass Dharma are a great thing to add to your home. It's an easy step to a healthier, more green lifestyle. They have several different lengths and widths to choose from, too.

In my sample package, I received 9'' Simple Elegance Smoothie Straw, a 9'' Blue Decorative Dot Ice Tea Straw, a 9'' Beautiful Bend Ice Tea Straw, and a 6.25'' Green Decorative Sipper Straw. I was also given a couple cleaning brushes, but these are sold seperately and do not come with the straws.

I really liked the little 6.25'' Sipper Straws because they are PERFECT for the 8 ounce juice glasses my kids usually drink from, however, my son preferred to use the big ole 9'' Smoothie Straw! I thought that a straw that big in a glass that small would cause things to spill, but it didn't! My personal fave was definitely the Beautiful Bend. These straws are SO elegant looking and so beautiful, but they are also GOOD FOR YOU since they aren't plastic and won't clog a landfill! I store my glass straws in a simple Mason jar. Bonus points for them being dishwasher safe, too!

The Decorative Dots are available in all 4 diameters and 6 colors: Red, Green, Blue, Amber, Clear and Black making them perfect to use to identify who's glass is whose!

Buy them single or in a set. Not sure which to get? Check out the Sizing Chart.

I would get the extra long iced tea straw. I tend to get giant sodas so I think extra long would be a good choice.

Awesome giveaway, I'm trying to get rid of plastic too. I like the tall slanted one, and I love the dots.....hate sucking on others straws.

I never heard of these before...sounds like a great product...and I want the cleaner brushes to use too! I think they would be a must...and I would go with the extra long straws for my hubbies 44 oz. water jug that he always has right next to him!! I worry now about the plastic straws that come with the big jug...I don't feel like I can ever get them clean enough!
