Princess Modest Swimwear Review and Giveaway

I was so frustrated last summer at our options for swimwear. We had just made the decision a couple months prior to dress in a more modest way, including giving up pants and wearing skirts/dresses only. It wasn't even a decision, really.... it was a conviction for us.

When summer happened, I was thankful that we only had a few opportunities to swim in a pool. Most of our summer fun was spent out back with the kiddie pool and sprinkler. The girls ran around in their clothes and while it wasn't necessarily ideal, it worked. The times we did go swimming in a pool we went when it was only us. Despite the fact that we felt modesty meant covering our thigh to our knee, we still donned a traditional swimsuit. I took solace in the fact that we were still in transitional stage and that our traditional swimsuits were still VERY modest by the world's standards. It still bothered me, and it bothered some of my kids.

This year, I am so thankful to have found a lovely plus-size modest by my definition swimsuit! No longer will I be bothered by donning a swimsuit. It definitely covers my thighs and there is NO risk at someone seeing something they shouldn't. Gaila from Princess Modest Swimsuits was gracious enough to send me a swimsuit to test out and then host a giveaway! (Yay!!!) Yes, my swimsuit was plus-size, but they carry regular sizes, too! And head coverings (if you need one).

I received the black and aqua swimskirt and top to review- these reviews are strictly my own, though.

This swimsuit is in three pieces. The swimskirt with tights attached, the aqua top, and the black tunic top. The material is very lightweight and has SPF 50+ to protect your skin. Now, I know what you've been thinking.... it's March, she lives in Nebraska, and she's reviewing a swimsuit?! Well, here's the deal... you don't even HAVE to swim in this! I kid you not- you could grocery shop or do like I do and work out in it!

It has snaps on the skirt so you can wear it as is- or you can snap them together to help you when you are actually in the water!

Drawstring around the waist! Perfect if you might be losing weight during the summer!

Skirt itself covers my knees.... even when I'm sitting (which is exactly what I'm doing in the picture below.... if you can't tell!)

But the leggings go on down. I'm 5'5 and the leggings were mid-calf. In the picture on the website, the leggings go just above the calf.

Sleeves are 3/4 length, which I LOVE! I know I might be an odd person, but this swimsuit makes me feel covered and modest!

It is also high up on the neckline, but not TOO high! Bending over never reveals anything it shouldn't AND being large chested means I don't have to constantly tug at my suit to stay covered!

You can wear it with the tunic.....

or without......

Ok, enough of ME.... let's get this giveaway STARTED! I loved this suit and everything about it! It was such a blessing to do a review on it because it completely fits everything I was looking for! You can also check out their website to see the other beautiful swimwear that they make. Swimskirts like above, also swimdresses, swimcaps, and even men's swimwear!

Princess Modest Swimwear has generously offered to not only do a giveaway, but to also offer a 10% discount for Slowly Natural fans! Be sure to use discount code: SloNat when you order! There's still more! They are offering an ADDITIONAL 10% to women ordering size 2XL or 3XL! Use discount code: SloNatXXL for the 20% off when ordering those sizes! Expires May 1st, 2013. Thank you SO much Princess Modest Swimwear!!!

I would probably pick the black/red skirt and top. It's always nice to have swimwear you can wear anywhere and still be modest!

I think the lavender/purple or the aqua/black. It will be for my daughter so I'll let her choose, if I win!
